In December 2021, a post-mortem revealed that Adams had “unusually severe” C.T.E. (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), a form of brain damage linked to repeated head trauma, as per The New York Times. Dr. Baby Gronk Ann McKee said that C.T.E. “might have contributed to Adams’s behavioral abnormalities.”
